Video

A few short-form video projects I’ve enjoyed creating in the recent past:

To kick-off the launch of the new Chevrolet Cruze in Canada – General Motors created an innovative sponsored installation during the 2010 Nuit Blanche street arts festival in Toronto. We created a series of videos to document CRUZE Remix, the first few videos uploaded to YouTube during the same day of the event.

With fellow insider and host Skye, we created a series of Cadillac Festival Insider videos for the 2010 campaign, adding a new video each day during TIFF week.

I always planned on shooting the Olympic Torch relay when it hit Toronto. How can you not get excited about the Olympics in Canada? When I heard film director Ivan Reitman would be passing the torch to his recently Oscar nominated son Jason – that was a moment I needed to capture.

Kayvon of KayvonTV fame represented Sharpie markers in the Pink Ribbon Sharpie campaign to support Breast Cancer research. It was the first of a few content sponsorship deals we would attempt with our KayvonTV brand.

A recent viral hit (over 25,000 plays the last week.) Really a lesson of when you capture a reclusive celebrity personality – doing something interesting – a huge online community of HARDCORE FANS do notice and engage.

After I added some broadcast style graphics we had a shopping channel satire meets KayvonTV. NOTE: Slash books now sold out. (Perhaps we even stumbled upon a business model?)

After my documentary series Hounds played on TV in Canada – I started to re-edited the series for short form play online.

It was a mix of old and new media for the Quik Pod. I shot some inserts to match existing footage, added broadcast graphics, and edited everything to a tight 30 seconds. Later, I added a blog to the Quik Pod’s sales site.

The art of the documentary will always be close to my heart. Interviewing Nile Rodgers and hearing the story of such an iconic song was a very cool thing. This video will consistently get a few thousands plays a month till the end of time.
